Disciplinary Proceedings: Meaning, Grounds and General Duties
Every officer must acquaint himself with the disciplinary rules, the Commission's applicable disciplinary guidelines and other regulations in force. Disciplinary proceedings are procedures initiated by, at the instance of, or with approval of the Commission or similar body to determine whether conduct is blameworthy or sanction is in the interest of the organisation/Public Service. Proceedings arise from misconduct or general inefficiency. Disciplinary action should also aim at improved performance, and a culpable officer may be required to undertake to be of good conduct.
