Sick Officer Reporting and Medical Advice Duties
Every officer must keep the Agency informed in writing of an address at which he can be found or his whereabouts ascertained if illness prevents him from reporting for duty. An officer prevented by illness from performing duties must either report the fact immediately to the Agency or, within 48 hours, cause an Excuse Duty Certificate signed by the appropriate Medical Officer to be delivered, subject to the stated exceptions. On reporting sick, the officer may be instructed to seek medical advice and provide an appropriate certificate within 48 hours, or may be authorised to be absent without a certificate for a specified period; where a Medical Officer is available that period may not exceed two days. An officer stationed where a Medical Officer is available must seek medical advice after illness has prevented duty for two days, and officers must comply with official arrangements and medical advice as prescribed.
