Provisional General Warrant

A Provisional General Warrant is issued where the Appropriation Act has not come into operation at the commencement of the financial year. It may authorise withdrawals necessary to carry on government services for not more than six months and at a level not exceeding that prevailing in the previous financial year. The original is addressed to the Accountant-General, a signed copy is forwarded to the Auditor-General, and notification of signature is published in the Federal Official Gazette.
